Found bapt record in NYCRO; son of James Chapman of Worton.
There is also an Askrigg burial record for a Christopher Chapman of Bainbridge; 17 Sep 1796 ; could be him but unlikely. More likely is 17 Jan 1831; Christopher Chapman of Borwins, matches possible wife record as well (ie she is relict).
Christopher married Ellen. (Ellen died in 1833 and was buried on 10 Sep 1833 in Askrigg, N Yorks.)
