1861 Census; Living, aged 5, at 1 Thomas St., Hutton Lowcross, Yorks. with parents and sister.

1871 Census; Living, aged 15, at High St., Lofthouse, Yorks. with parents and 4 siblings. Scholar.

1881 Census; Odd entry; is shown as 'son' but living at 38 High St., Lofthouse, Yorks. with 2 siblings (Edward and Bertha) and there is no 'head'. Presumably this is also home of parents but they're not there on census night. He is 25, unmarried and Solicitor's Clerk.

1891 Census; Living as head, aged 35, at 110 Florence St., Harborne, Staffs with wife. Occupation; Cashier. His brother is also living in Harborne.

1901 Census; Living as head, aged 44, at 14 Shomstone(?) Road, Lady Wood, Birmingham with wife. Occupation; Tramway Company Clerk.

Edward married Elizabeth. (Elizabeth was born in 1855 in Chesham, Bucks.)
