Birth record says Mary MCP McPherson Q3 1866 West Derby (which is Liverpool), but perhaphs this is saying she is McP not Mac??!?

Her father was dead (just) before she was born.

1871 Census (age 4) living with widowed mother as lodger at 58 Green Lane, St Werburgh Parish, Derby.

1881 Census (age 14) at 2 Union Terrace, Liscard, Cheshire with her mother and a servant. Scholar.

1891 Census (age 24) living with mother at 3 Spring Bank Road, Silverdale, Lancs. No occupation given.

A Mary McPherson married in W Derby in Q3 1897 to either Wm Bishop or John Shies
Mary Bishop in 1901 – no real matches with husband Wm
Nothing at all for Shies. Even soundex doesn’t really anything possible.
A Mary McPherson married in Chorlton in Q4 1897 to either Thomas Smith or Francis Culleton
Not checked these in 1901 yet.
